Following are a few simple but important concepts that you must know for using JV-ContentLinks easily and efficiently to get maximum returns. 

What is a Keyword Phrase?

A 'Keyword Phrase' or just 'Keyword' in JV-ContentLinks refers to 1 or more words in an article. 'Prime Minister', 'Lorem Epsum', 'Joomla' are some examples.

What is a Keyword Link?

A 'Keyword Link' or just 'Link' in JV-ContentLinks refers to a hyperlink on a keyword or keyword phrase. The link points to a URL and has a title attribute.

What are the different Statuses of a Keyword Link?

1. IN USE or ACTIVE:  
   1. If the link has been added to the keyword via advertising, then this is the state of the link after the payment is made and approved. The keyword will appear with the link, only when the state of the link is in this state. 
   2. If the link has been added from back-end or from front-end for free (not via advertising), then this is the default and immediate state.
   3. Anyone can view the link appearing on the keyword in front-end when it is in this state.
   4. No other visitor can choose to advertise on the keyword when it is in this state.
2. EXPIRED: 
   1. A link can be added for a keyword permanently or for a specific time period. Once the duration for the link expires, the keyword link automatically moves to this state. 
   2. The link will not appear on the keyword in front-end for anyone when it is in this state.
3. PENDING or PENDING PAYMENT: 
   1. During front-end advertising, when a visitor places a request for adding a link on a keyword in an article, they give all the details about the request and is finally taken to PayPal for payment. At this juncture, the link is in PENDING PAYMENT state.
   2. The link will not appear on the keyword in front-end for anyone when it is in this state, as the payment has not been completed yet. 
   3. Once the payment is completed successfully, JV-ContentLinks will automatically move the link from PENDING PAYMENT to ACTIVE state.
   4. No other visitor can choose to advertise on the keyword when it is in this state.
4. ARCHIVED: 
   1. This is more of a book keeping state, where by you want to maintain the records, just to ensure that, you can refer back to them anytime in the future. Once archived, the link is invalid and it exists only for record purposes.

What is Keyword Link Activation?

Link Activation is the process of manually moving a link from PENDING PAYMENT or PENDING state to IN USE or ACTIVE state at back-end. This is used when the payment mechanism is chosen as "Offline at PayPal" and the transaction is completed. Once the transaction is completed, the Joomla admin can login to back-end and click on the activate button for the corresponding keyword link and the keyword link will be activated.

Link Replacement Scopes:

JV-ContentLinks provides multiple ways of keyword to links replacement. They are:

1. First-Occurrence: 
   1. Only the first occurrence of the keyword in the configured article is replaced with its link 
2. Article-Wide: 
   1. One or more or all occurrences of the keyword in the configured article are replaced with its link. JV-ContentLinks also allows you to configure the number of occurrences of a keyword that can be replaced with link.
3. Site-Wide First-Occurrence: 
   1. The first occurrence of the keyword in all articles are replaced with its link. This is article in-dependent.
4. Site-Wide: 
   1. All occurrences of the keyword in all articles are replaced with its link. This is article in-dependent.
